Mulchstock 2015 – The Largest Peaceful Lawn Transformation on Record!

On Saturday, October 24th, 2015, Clear Blue Commercial and Daily Acts organized the Largest Peaceful Lawn Transformation on Record! With the hard work of approximately 150 volunteers and donations of mulch and materials from local companies and local agencies, we were able to transform 64,000 square feet of water consuming lawns into mulch covered soil ready for drought resistant plants to be planted.

This single day of community engagement, hard work, and fun will save 1.6 million gallons of water per year!

Over 10 years that amounts to a total of 16 million gallons of water saved!

With the generous help from the City of Petaluma’s Mulch Madness Program who provided the bulk of the mulch, as well as Cagwin & Dorward, Fishman Supply, Rain Bird Irrigation and several other key organizations and community leaders mentioned in the credits above, the job couldn’t have even begun. With community and organizational volunteers, who worked very hard, we were able to do this in only a day! And it surely would not have been as fun and enjoyable without the bands Sol HorizonBad Apple String Band, Grand Crue, Renegade Sound and wonderful food donated by Clover Stornetta, Guayaki, Traditional Medicinals, Ruthy’s Real Meals, Out To Lunch Catering, and Preferred Sonoma Caterers. Thank you to everyone who was involved that wonderful day and we hope to do something similar soon to other properties we manage in the future!

If you are a property manager or homeowner who is interested in converting your lawn to mulch and drought resistant plants, here is an excellent article presented by Cagwin & Dorward (click here).
