About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on Assistant Facility Engineer to help keep our managed buildings running safely, efficiently, and comfortably for the people who use them every day. You’ll work alongside the Chief Engineer and Facility Operations Manager on everything from HVAC and electrical systems to plumbing, mechanical repairs, and preventive maintenance.

This is a great fit for a mechanically skilled problem-solver who takes pride in doing the job right the first time, communicates clearly with property managers and tenants, and enjoys the variety of a building engineering role — no two days look exactly alike.

We are looking to add to our motivated team of highly-trained, knowledgeable professionals. If you are passionate about your community and your planet, if you believe that collaboration is the new competition, if you know that together we can create real change, we would welcome your years of industry experience and your unique talents.

This is a part-time position that will start and go through the end of the year and then go full-time in January 2027.

  • Ensure the safe and proper operation of HVAC, fire/life safety equipment, and electrical systems.
  • Log, prioritize, and complete work orders on time using the building’s work order / CMMS system, and submit requests for additional repairs as needed.
  • Maintain accurate daily logbook entries documenting completed tasks and building conditions.
  • Source and purchase repair and maintenance parts and supplies as needed.
  • Partner closely with on-site property managers and tenants, communicating proactively and professionally.
  • Take on additional projects and responsibilities as assigned, contributing ideas for improving building efficiency and tenant experience.

  • A minimum of two years of experience in building engineering, maintenance, or a related trade.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.

  • Strong troubleshooting skills paired with clear, professional communication.
  • A self-motivated, service-first attitude and willingness to see a job through to completion.

Nice to Have

  • EPA 608 Universal Certification or similar HVAC/refrigerant credential.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 safety certification.
  • Experience with building automation systems (BAS) or CMMS platforms.
